| Operating System | Windows 10/11 or Windows Server 2016+ |
| CPU | Dual-core x64 processor (Intel or AMD) |
| RAM | 4 GB |
| Disk | 500 MB for application + storage for recordings |
| Runtime | ASP.NET Core Runtime 10.0 |
| Network | 100 Mbps Ethernet |
Recommended Specifications
Home / Small Setup (1–4 cameras)
- Windows 10/11
- Quad-core CPU
- 8 GB RAM
- 256 GB SSD (system) + 1 TB HDD (recordings)
- 1 Gbps Ethernet
Business Setup (5–64 cameras)
- Windows Server 2019/2022
- 8+ core CPU (Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC)
- 16–32 GB RAM
- SSD (system) + RAID HDD array (recordings)
- 1 Gbps+ Ethernet
Storage Requirements
Recording storage depends on camera count, resolution, frame rate, and retention period.
| Configuration | Per Camera / Day | 4 Cameras / 30 Days |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p, H.264, 15 FPS | ~1.5 GB | ~180 GB |
| 1080p, H.264, 25 FPS | ~2.5 GB | ~300 GB |
| 4K, H.265, 15 FPS | ~4 GB | ~480 GB |
Kalytera supports local disk and Synology NAS (via SMB/CIFS) for recordings.
Plan for 20% additional overhead for segment files and thumbnails.
Network Requirements
- Bandwidth: Each 1080p camera stream requires approximately 4–8 Mbps. A 4-camera setup needs at least 16–32 Mbps of sustained network throughput.
- Ports: Kalytera uses port
5000(HTTP) and5001(HTTPS) by default. Cameras typically use RTSP port554and ONVIF port3702. - Multicast: ONVIF WS-Discovery uses multicast address
239.255.255.250:3702. Ensure your network allows multicast traffic if using automatic ONVIF discovery. - PoE Switch: Recommended for powering IP cameras and simplifying cabling.
GPU for AI Analytics
AI analytics (object detection, line crossing, zone intrusion) are available on Standard tier and above. For GPU-accelerated inference:
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| GPU | NVIDIA GPU with CUDA support (GTX 1060 or better recommended) |
| Driver | NVIDIA driver version 527.41+ (CUDA 12.x compatible) |
| OS | Windows 10 version 1903+ or Windows 11 |
| Disk | ~8–15 GB for AI model files (downloaded automatically on first run) |
No CUDA Toolkit, Docker, WSL2, or Python installation required.
Kalytera bundles everything needed for AI inference — just ensure a compatible NVIDIA driver is installed.
AI models are stored in %ProgramData%\Kalytera\Models and are downloaded automatically on first use.
